911 vs. 988 – who do I call?
988 provides support for psychiatric emergencies and 911 provides support for all other emergencies. The 988 and 911 systems coordinate with one another.
Mobile crisis team vs. 911/988 – who do I call?
If the person you are concerned about is injured or is an immediate threat to hurt someone, call 911 or 988 before calling a mobile crisis team. There may be delays when engaging mobile crisis teams.
What is a mobile crisis team?
Mobile crisis teams include mental health professionals who are dispatched to community locations to provide assessment and intervention to people experiencing a psychiatric emergency. To learn more about mobile crisis teams in your area, search “mobile crisis team” and the name of your county.
